Schooltool Parent Portal
This is our grading program that will allow you to view your students grades for all subjects. This website will give you a "snapshot" of how your student is doing. Please note that the grades are entered as soon as possible but sometimes there may be a lag of a day or two between assignment due dates and when the grades are entered. Helping your student study for tests
The chapter tests generally follow the information found in the textbook. In class we read and annotate the textbook together. I have students highlight and add notes as we go along. I highly recommend using flash cards as a study aid. Students who have a year's worth of flash cards are given bonus points on their final exam.
Special Projects
I make every attempt to discuss with students that projects are an important part of their grade. Project are only assigned twice per year (one in the second marking period and one in the 3rd marking period) Materials for building projects should be those found in your house for the most part. Please do not feel that you must purchase a great deal of special materials for projects. If you have any questions please contact me.
Homework expectations
Homework is assigned approximately every other day. Students have until the end of 7th period to get their assignments to me with no late penalty taken off the assignment grade; after 7th period students loose 1/3 of the assignments credit for each day it is late. Work that is greater than 3 days late will be completed but the student will not receive credit.
